THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES
Original airdate: December 8, 1988
Dane name: "the hound"
The classic Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novel adapted for the BBC. It stars Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes. The tale has Holmes investigating a family curse that promises death by the jaws of a hound from hell! The villian is using a Great Dane as the devil dog. In this version the Dane is a natural ear fawn. For close up shots a black 'cropped earred' puppet/plush is used which can be seen clearly especially when viewing frame by frame.
