Two Great Danes, a Mantle & a Black, are found by the patriots. Mel Gibson's character attempts to utilize the dogs as a way of winning favor.
The Danes trained by Eadie McMillan of Gentle Jungle for the roles were Charity (a rescue Dane owned by S. Thommarson in California), Jake (Lady Black Diamond of Ruby, bred by W. & E. Garrison in Wisconsin) and
Vanilla Fudge (a Harlequin bred by L&M Danes converted to a Mantle via make-up).
