This is the 13th direct to video movie. Produced in 2008, it was held back until 2009 so that SCOOBY-DOO! AND THE GOBLIN KING could come out on Halloween 2008.
This tale has Mystery Inc visiting Japan so that Daphne can participate in a martial arts tournament. While there they learn that the Ghost of the Black Samurai has returned to steal the sword of fate. When the gang is kidnapped, Scooby and Shaggy escape. They now have to pass through the gates of earth, air, fire and water to find the sword of fate.
This is the last time Casey Kasem voices Shaggy.
